2024: Year in Reflection

“To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.” ~Ralph Waldo Emerson

2024: A Year in Reflection

As I look back on 2024, it’s clear this was a year of growth, challenges, and milestones. Here’s a recap of the moments that defined it:

Highlights of the Year

• Personal Growth: I stepped out of my comfort zone more than ever. From making uncomfortable decisions to building stronger connections, I made strides toward becoming a better version of myself.

• PCT Preparation: This was a huge focus. Training hikes, gear research, and blogging about my journey all laid the groundwork for my upcoming thru-hike.

• Community Connection: Whether through shared adventures or online discussions, I found a sense of belonging in groups and communities that align with my values and passions.

Challenges Faced

• Balancing Priorities: Juggling between work and health related issues have been a challenge.

• Overcoming Doubts: There were moments of uncertainty, but I learned to lean on my support system, trust the process, and be more confident with my skills

Memorable Moments

• Trust my instinct and tell deserving people to fuck off.

• Driving and stopping along the coast with almost no signal to snag a long distance PCT hiking permit.

• Taking on almost 100 miles of PCT coastal desert!

• Journaling

Lessons Learned

• Consistency, not perfection, is key to progress.

• Nature is not just a destination but a teacher.

• Surrounding myself with positive influences makes all the difference.

2024, you weren’t perfect, but you were most meaningful because you were a year of laying foundations towards a much deeper sense of purpose.

Cheers to 2025!
